Those looking to experience the cultural attractions and life on another Greek island other than just Mykonos will find that various options present themselves. Popular attractions suitable for island hopping include many of the other Cyclades islands, such as Naxos, Paros and Santorini, all of which are just a relatively short ferry ride from Mykonos.

Delos is an appealing island with a number of ancient sites, and is conveniently close by (2 km / 1.5 miles to the west) and linked to Mykonos by regular daily excursions. Just a matter of minutes away, Delos is reputed to be the birthplace of Greek gods, Artemis and Apollo. There tend to be at least three or four daily ferries linking Mykonos with the Aegean island of Tinos in just 15 minutes or thereabouts. Known as the Island of Megalohari (Virgin Mary), Tinos has so truly awesome beaches, although in many cases, they can be quite a trek to actually reach. Head to Pyrgos, on the northern side of Tinos, where many local Greek artists sell and exhibit their works.
